Ripple Effect Conference 2026

Ripple Effect 2026 | From Ripples to Waves

Ripple Effect is a two-day conference bringing together practitioners, community leaders, researchers and changemakers from across Aotearoa to connect, learn and explore what it takes to prevent family violence and sexual violence.

This year’s theme, From Ripples to Waves, starts with a simple idea: change can begin with individuals, whānau, organisations or communities, but its potential grows when those efforts connect. Across two days, we’ll create space to share what we know, challenge our thinking, learn from lived experience and one another, and consider what becomes possible when individual action builds into collective action.

Day 1 | The Current grounds us in where we are now. Through lived experience, healing, response and collaboration, we’ll explore what is happening across our communities and systems, what we are learning, and what needs our attention. Underneath the day sits a bigger question: What would our communities look and feel like if sexual violence and family violence were no longer part of them?

Day 2 | Making Waves turns us towards what comes next. The focus shifts to prevention, belonging, innovation, collaboration and action, asking what we can influence and what becomes possible when we work together. Rather than leaving good ideas in the conference room, the invitation is to think about what each of us can take forward, who we need to connect with, and how the ripples already happening across Aotearoa can grow.

Across the programme there will be keynote presentations, lived-experience kōrero, workshops, opportunities for connection and collective thinking, and dedicated space for reflection and wellbeing.

You don’t need to arrive with all the answers. Bring your experience, your questions and your perspective. Nobody has to do everything, but everyone can influence something. The opportunity is in connecting those effort.
