I’ve held leadership/corporate roles for the last 15 years and have worked with hundreds of business clients from a wide range of industry types during that time. Giving back to community is very important to me and I’m learning how to do this through both governance and applying my commercial knowledge to help businesses that provide supportive services to local communities. My mother has worked for 35 years in social services, the last 20 for Barnardo’s in rehabilitation units for youth who have committed sexual offenses. My sister is also a qualified social worker specialising in youth mental health, I believe their experiences have influenced the way I view the world and the types of organisations that I have synergy with. I hold two board roles, the other is Single Parent Services Waikato who provide social work and counselling services to single parent families (children and parents).
I am 17 years married to wife Helen and have two daughters aged 15 and 7. In our spare time we like to stay close with friends and family, travel, go hiking or bush walking, and I have a passion for classic cars.
