Whakatane sexual harm support services

The Whakatane Service is made up of a team of people who are passionate about helping our community to recover from the impacts of sexual harm and sexual abuse. We cover the Eastern Bay of Plenty region and are able to provide services in Kawerau and Opotiki as well as at our Whakatane office. Our Whakatane house is situated in a quiet part of town offering privacy and ensuring as much as possible that your visit to us is confidential. Maintaining client’s confidentiality is of paramount importance to us.

We offer a wrap around service consisting of:

• Our social worker who can assist with the practical issues such as financial issues, housing, employment etc. and can offer general support as needed in dealing with the police, courts and legal processes.
• Our counselling service can provide information and support for trauma related issues and start the journey towards recovery from the impacts of sexual abuse and trauma.
• Our medical team will assist with medical issues related to the sexual harm.
• Our forensic team who assist with recent incidents of sexual assault in the Whakatane
  region.
• We also facilitate the process of clients moving on to ACC Counsellors for longer term care.
