Our services are focused on providing crisis counselling and support to clients who have experienced sexual abuse and sexual assault in the rural Waikato areas. We have a team of counsellors working through the entire Waikato, Waipa and Otorohanga District. Our counsellors deliver services in Huntly, Ngaruawahia, Te Awamutu, Cambridge, Otorohanga, Te Kuiti, Raglan and surrounding areas. The Waikato service has a crisis support team who can accompany clients to police interviews, medical interviews and offer counselling through to the transition to ACC Counselling Services. In Hamilton we also provide after-hours crisis support for people following a sexual assault.
We define sexual abuse as any behaviour of a sexual nature that makes someone feel uncomfortable, frightened, intimidated or threatened. It is any form of sexual behaviour when a person uses their physical or emotional power against another.
